Attendance:
The first school bell rings at ___ and the tardy bell rings at ___. School is dismissed at ___. Please help your student be on time to class.
If you need to take your student out of class, please check him/her out in the office and the secretary will page my room to have your student sent down to you.
Classroom Rules:
Our class rules are a set of agreements that will be lifelong guidelines.
- Be an Attentive Listener with your ears, your eyes, your brain and your heart!
- Be Kind; Use Appreciation/No put-downs. Be kind with your words and actions.
- Be Trustworthy
- Be Respectful. Work quietly. Do not disturb others who are working.
- Be a hard worker. Always do your personal best!
- Be truthful. Honesty is the best policy!
Homework/Assignments:
Your student has a daily homework folder to bring home homework, daily assignments, and notes from the school. One pocket is labeled HOMEWORK and the other pocket is labeled FINISHED WORK. Please take time to review this folder daily with your student. Remove and review finished work. Replace with finished homework or completed notes for the next day.
Reading:
It is vital that your child reads for at least 25 minutes each day.
Birthdays:
If your student’s birthday falls on a school day, we will celebrate it on that day. If the birthday falls on a weekend or on a holiday, we will celebrate it on the Friday or the following Monday closest to the birthday. If your child’s birthday falls during the summer months of vacation, we will celebrate an UNBIRTHDAY six months from the date of their birthday. If you choose to send treats on their birthday there are __ students in our class. Though we love home-baked goodies the best, district policy requires that only store-bought treats are allowed in class. I will also notify you of any allergies to particular types of foods.
Please let me know at once if your child has any food allergies or special health issues that may affect your child’s success in school.
